Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.
우연히 발견한 필립 K 딕의 글귀. 가끔은 현실에 대처하는 적절한 방법이 미치는 것이라는 그의 말이 신통한 점쟁이의 미래예측처럼 귓가에 맴돈다. 20년도 넘은 그의 소설에 적힌 글귀이지만, 그 촌철살인이란 간담이 서늘할 정도로 정확하다. 그래서 그의 소설이 현재도 SF이겠지. 미치지 않고는 살아갈 수 없는 세상. 미치지 못하면 미친척이라도 해야 하는 건 아닐까. 씁쓸함이 꽤 오래 남는다.
